Dr. David Trumble: Visionary Founder of Fix Sewing Machines Institute
Educator, minister, technician, entrepreneur, and prolific author—Dr. David Trumble is a man of many talents, woven together by an unyielding passion for service and innovation.
David’s journey began in the classroom, where he inspired young minds as a 4th-grade teacher and Reading Specialist before sharing his expertise with college students in Maryland. A devoted Christian Church Minister since 1975, he earned his doctorate from International Bible Seminary in 1985 and has been a pillar of faith in Georgetown, Texas churches since 1992. His voice echoes far beyond the pulpit, with countless articles gracing the pages of Christian Standard, Leadership Magazine, and Christianity Today, alongside over 25 authored books and contributions to numerous others.
In 1992, David and his wife, Donna, threaded a new chapter into their lives by launching The Sewing Studio from their Georgetown home. What started as a humble sewing center unraveled a massive, untapped need for expert sewing machine repair. Undeterred by the scarcity of resources, David embarked on a relentless quest for knowledge, training with industry giants like Allyn International of Denver, Brother International, Baby Lock, Juki, and more.
As demand surged, their home-based operation outgrew its seams. They rented a modest retail space, with David tirelessly servicing machines from his garage workshop. From these grassroots beginnings, Temple Sewing And Supply, Inc. emerged, blossoming into multiple locations with small repair shops at each. The company earned its stripes as an Authorized Dealer for Baby Lock, Brother, Elna, Janome, Juki, Necchi, Simplicity, and top-tier commercial lines.
In June 2016, David passed the reins of Temple Sewing And Supply, Inc. and its “Sew And Quilt” stores to his son, Jeremiah, marking his official retirement from the retail world. Yet, his vision refused to rest. Today, he steers the Sewing Machines Institute with the steadfast support of his daughter, Joyanna, and son, Jeremiah—transforming it into a global hub of sewing machine expertise.
A tireless advocate for good, David pours his energy into Castle Christian Ministries (www.CastleChristianOnline.com), the nonprofit that owns and operates the Institute. Every contribution to this mission-driven endeavor supports Castle Christian’s work, fueling a legacy of compassion and practical help.
Dr. David Trumble isn’t just a founder—he’s a trailblazer who stitched together a movement, blending skill, faith, and purpose into something truly extraordinary.
