Stitching a Legacy: The Journey of Sewing Machines Institute

Starting in 2002, Temple Sewing And Supply has been igniting a passion for sewing machine mastery, starting with apprentice-style training for mechanics from dealerships across Austin. What began as a spark of innovation grew into a blazing trail of education.

From 2004 to 2006, the seeds of a groundbreaking formal curriculum were sown through the Correspondence Institute at FixSewingMachines.com. By 2012, the Fix Sewing Machines Institute burst onto the scene with exhilarating live, hands-on classes that revolutionized the industry.

Imagine a world where over 2,000 students from 50 states and 10 countries have unlocked the secrets of sewing machine repair through our dynamic blend of Correspondence Institute and Live Hands-On programs. That’s the reality we’ve created!

Our live institute attracts a vibrant mix of talent: 25% are ambitious mechanics sent by factories and companies to hone their craft; 20% are passionate sewing enthusiasts eager to master their machines; and 40% are bold entrepreneurs ready to stitch together their own thriving repair businesses. The remaining 15%? A fascinating tapestry of missionaries preparing for service, dealer technicians, seasoned pros sharpening their skills, and more.

But we’re more than just a training powerhouse. The Institute is a beacon of hope, fueling the vital work of Castle Christian Ministries—a nonprofit dedicated to uplifting lives with compassion and care. Through meals, travel assistance, medical transportation, and personalized support for seniors, our volunteers weave practical help into a unique ministry that touches hearts and transforms communities.

Sewing Machines Institute proudly serves as a ministry of Castle Christian, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All contributions—whether for training, education, or donations—are deeply appreciated and may be tax-deductible for business, educational, or charitable purposes, amplifying the impact of your support.

Join us on this extraordinary journey—where skill meets purpose, and every stitch tells a story of impact!
