The marketing genius of Isaac Singer quickly grabbed the fledgling sewing machine market near its beginning. Despite numerous court battles, the Singer Company dominated the sewing world.

When I was a child, I thought the name for the machine was a Singer not a sewing machine. I never heard of anything else. Were there other sewing machines?

Today, we look back to find that indeed, many others made sewing machines. Every time another company produced a break through innovation, Singer followed soon thereafter.

During the post WWII era, Singer launched a huge educational program and time payment program.

The Singer 301A was a very popular model and we see them often in our regional service center.

That said, just because a company dominates the market, does make it the best value or machine on the market. You will need to do some more research on that.
